EUG 2016 and ZFA to cooperate in organizing football and futsal competitions

On Wednesday, June 8, the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 (EUG 2016) and the Zagreb Football Association signed an agreement on cooperation in the organization of football and futsal competitions at the upcoming Games.

Both football and futsal are among the biggest sports of the EUG 2016 in terms of the number of participants, with competitions to be held at 18 sports venues.

The football finals will be held on July 19. The women’s final will be played at SRC Zagrebello, while the men’s final will be played at Lučko Stadium. The futsal finals for both men and women will be held on July 24 in the Hall 2 of Dom Sportova.

Good results are expected from the teams of Croatian universities, which will come with their strongest squads and have already started intensive preparations for the largest multisport event in the history of the Republic of Croatia.
