News - Heads of delegation started visit to EUG 2016 in Rijeka

The 2-day Heads of Delegation Meeting for the EUG 2016 started in Rijeka on Tuesday, 10th May.

The meeting which was attended by over 30 people, including European University Sport Association (EUSA) representatives, National University Sports Associations (NUSA)representatives from 13 countries and members of the Organizing Committee, was held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Campus of University of Rijeka.

“Over thousand days of preparations are behind us, we are ready for the Games, “said Mr Nikola Vincetic, coordinator of the EUG 2016 Rijeka office. In his speech he expressed his confidence in a successful staging of the Games.

The purpose of the meeting is to present all information about the services provided to all participants, including accommodation, transportation, security, media and many other aspects of the Games. Mr. Vincetic held a very interesting presentation about all the information relevant to participants coming to Rijeka during the Games.

Mr Marko Zunic, Secretary General of EUG 2016 expressed his satisfaction about the fact that a lot was invested to improve student standards thanks to the Games – in Zagreb, as well in Rijeka. Mr Zunic considers the newly built student dormitories in Rijeka, the biggest legacy of the Games, where the first visitors will be participants of EUG 2016.

On behalf of EUSA, Mr Arie Rosenzweig, expressed his conviction that EUG 2016 will be a fantastic event, with great atmosphere and friendships that in some cases will last forever.

On the second day of the meeting, the participants will visit Zagreb, where they will be able to get information about the whole system of the Games, as well as visiting the most important locations, where the Games will take place.
