News - Last EUSA Supervision Commission visit prior to EUG 2016

Delegation of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) is visiting the Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka between May 9 and 12, 2016 for the final supervision commission visit before the start of the European Universities Games EUG2016 which will take place this summer in the before-mentioned cities.

The delegation is lead by Mr Kemal Tamer, Supervision Commission Chair and Member of the EUSA Executive Committee, with members Mr Aitor Canibe Sanchez, Mr Arie Rosenzweig, Mr Matjaz Pecovnik and Mr Patrik Perosa, also accompanied by Mr Andrej Pisl and Ms Sara Rozman from the EUSA Office.

The aim of the meeting is to check the preparation of the organisation of the upcoming European Universities Games. EUSA delegation was met by the EUG2016 Organising Committee team, presenting and discussing all the aspects of the organisation of the event. After general introduction, presentation and project management of the Games was presented, followed by the presentations and discussions on sports programme, transportation, security and accreditation, protocol and ceremonies, medical services and catering.

Further on, programme and requirements for students with disabilities, academic, social and cultural activities and other relevant topics were discussed. EUSA representatives are monitoring the progress and offer assistance to the organisers of the Games, working together for the quality event which will be safe and enjoyable to the participants and interested public.

The supervision commission meeting will conclude on Thursday, following the 2-day NUSA coordination / Heads of Delegation meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday.
