Take a look at the space station of the European Universities Games!

Special guests from distant galaxies have arrived at the opening ceremony! They will walk alongside athletes from all over Europe at Mladost Stadium on Wednesday, July 13.

The designers of their fantastic costumes are Vladimir Pavlović, Duje Kodžoman, Ivana Horvatić and Ana-Marija Bunjački from the Faculty of Textile Technology of the University of Zagreb. Vladimir told us the costumes were inspired by science fiction movies and comic books from the early ‘60s.

The theme of the opening ceremony is the universe, just as the European Universities Games in Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 will be the center of sports lovers’ universe in following days. The history, the present and the future – all in one. Everything is clear: you simply have to come to the opening ceremony because Zagreb will experience a real invasion!
