European Universities Games are the largest multi-sport competition in Europe, and a media platform that will mark a milestone for further development of Croatian university sports.

During the european Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2015, between 1,500 and 2,000 volunteers will live a unique experience in this great cultural and multi-spors event. Volunteers will be the backbone of the organization.

News - The second day of EUFC in Osijek
Football teams competed on the second day of competition. With huge energy they showed the true sport spirit at the European University Championship in football.
The team from University Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek took the lead in group A. The hosts reserved a place in quarter-finals by defeating Gdańsk University of Technology with the score 1:0. The second match between the University of Jyväskylä and the University of Stirling ended a draw without any goals scored.
In Group B, the first place went to the University of Franche-Comte which also ensured an entry into the quarter-finals after the victory over the University of Oslo (5:1). There were no goals in the match between the University of Minho and the Ural Federal University so it ended with a draw.
The Pamukkale University and the University Constantin Branc played in the group C. The Turks played their first match where they won Romanians (2:0) and showed a better structure of the play.
The spectators could see the highest number of goals in the match between the University Bochum and the University of Abo Akademi. With a score of 7:0, the Germans overcame Finns who have firmly occupied the last place in the group.
In the women’s part of championship, the strongest team is the University of Montpellier. They celebrated with a score 0:5 in the match against the University Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek. Ural Federal University celebrated the victory over the University of Marburg with a score 0:1. University of Song og Fjordane played a draw against the University of Wurzburg with the score 2:2.

Zagreb-Rijeka, Croatia: July 12 – 25, 2016
The 3rd edition of the European Universities Games will be held in the Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka in July 2016. Sport featured are Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7’s, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. Two of the sports – Table Tennis and Swimming – will also include competitions for students with disabilities. Apart of the sports competitions, the Games will be accompanied by the Rector’s Conference, educational side-events, cultural program and other activities.
