News - Passing by: Day of rest and activities

The competitors of the European Universities Games in Zagreb took advantage of the rainy day to rest and train in the gym in the 11th pavilion. The weather didn’t spoil their fun, since they were hoping for a bit of rain after the heat wave; they say it’s really refreshing.

The women football players from the University of Marburg in Germany will use their day off to tour Zagreb.

‘We’re staying for nine days, so we unpacked our suitcases without care. The rooms are clean and everything is new, and we didn’t expect that at first. So far we weren’t allowed to party due to the matches we had to play, but one of the next days we will definitely visit a party in Roko. At the moment we are making plans to go to the city center!’

This is the visit to our city for the football players from the University of Bochum, Germany, ‘We think that the accommodation is perfect for this kind of an event, especially since it is close to everything, which is important to us because athletes don’t have much free time. We can get to the restaurant or to Roko very quickly, where the service is good and the staff is friendly. We’ve already visited Zagreb’s main square and went for a drink there’

‘It suits us that we can train at the gym while it is raining. We use this time to get closer as a team, it is a sort of team building. The only criticism we have is that the restaurant isn’t constantly open, so we have to wait, but today there were no crowds so it is forgiven,’ basketball players from the University of Munich told us with a laugh.
