News - Passing By: Some are packing up, others are just arriving

While some competitions at the European Universities Games have already come to an end, others are just underway. The arriving teams are mostly interested in the cultural events in the area and they are looking forward to their stay in Zagreb. On the other hand, those returning home will remember the Games as an experience to look back on, especially because of the comfortable accommodation and great food.

Istanbul University: Men’s futsal

‘We’ve just arrived from the airport. We’ll be staying here for about ten days. We hope to return home with great results, but we’re also looking forward to having fun, and as we’ve heard, there are many parties being organized near the dorm.’

University of Nottingham: Men’s rowing

‘Lately, we’ve had a chance to visit Zagreb. It’s not a huge city, but people are very kind. It’s very lovely in here!’

University of Ljubljana: Men’s rowing

‘Our bags are all packed and we’re now waiting for the bus to take us to the airport. Unfortunately, we haven’t had a chance to visit the centre of Zagreb because of our nonstop training and the short duration of the competition. Still, we could hear music all the way from Club Roko in our rooms. The organization is amazing despite heat. Air conditioning in the rooms would’ve been great. We’ve met so many new people and we’ve become very close with them!’

We bid farewell to all those leaving the Games with the official EUG song, which is all the more appropriate as many of them have helped with the making of the video:
