Hamster – the mascot of EUG2016

After intense voting process, opened to all interested citizens, the biggest number of votes went to lovely hamster, who became one of the EUG2016 symbols. That choice is result of long process, which started in September last year after public tender, which brought 64 different ideas for EUG2016 mascot. Nine-people jury chose three finalists that were presented to public in second part of tender where the public had to choose the winner from them.

From total number of 5103 votes, the biggest part (43,7%) went to hamster designed by young authors Vedran Rade and Matija Tomšić.

Results:

3rd place: marteen and seal (Mirela Ivanković Bielen) – 25% of votes
2nd place: lynx (Alma Vragović and Hrvoje Orlović) – 31,3% of votes
1st place: hamster (Marija Tomšić and Vedran Rede) – 43,7 votes
