Choosing the successor of “Zagi”

ZAGREB, September 16th 2014 – Even though 27 years have passed by from Zagreb Universiade of 1987, many people still have positive feelings about it’s mascot “Zagi”. New games also mean the new mascot. Public tender for new mascot was announced for European Universities Games which will be held in 2016 in Zagreb and Rijeka. All interested citizens can take part in it and it will help in deciding the looks and characteristics of official mascot for EUG2016 – the biggest multi-sport event ever held in Croatia with more than 5 thousand participants expected.

The president of Organisational boad, Haris Pavletić, called the public to participate and help by its ideas. Beside symbolical and emotional value, the winner will be awarded by 10 thousand kuna award, and the final word in choice of mascot will be granted to citizens by online voting.
