First general training held for EUG international volunteers

The first general training for the international volunteers of the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 was held in the small amphitheater of the Games’ Main Operations Center.

Volunteer coordinators welcomed the volunteers, expressing gratitude for their help in the organization of the biggest event of academic sport in Europe. The volunteers got acquainted with the organization of EUG 2016 and learned basic information about Croatia, Zagreb and Rijeka. They were also given suggestions on what to see and to in their leisure time while in Croatia.

Two hundred volunteers came from all parts of the globe, including Japan, Australia and Mexico, joining their Croatian colleagues in specialized volunteer teams.
