News - EUSA on official tour before the Games — Zagreb is ready!

EUSA representatives visited the athletes’ village at the premises of the Student dormitory Stjepan Radić on Thursday, July 7, as part of the official tour that marked the end of all preparation at that site ahead of the European Universities Games.

There are seven days left before the start of the biggest sporting spectacle in Croatia and the student pavilions are slowly filling up with volunteers and athletes from all over Europe. In the last year, and especially during the last six months, an intensive amount of work has been done, including investments in the infrastructure so that Zagreb would be ready to welcome thousands of students from all over Europe. What is especially uplifting is that the works will remain a legacy for the students even after the Games.

The representatives of EUSA met with the representatives of the EUG 2016 Committee during the day, and expressed their satisfaction with the large amount of work done during the preparations. The support of the head organisation did not stay simply verbal, as they joined in on the last preparations after moving in to their assigned offices in the Main headquarters of the Games at the Faculty of Kinesiology.

Today’s meeting confirmed once again the readiness of the organisers in the preparation of sporting competitions and the rich and diverse accompanying program of the EUG 2016. One thing is for certain — Zagreb is ready.
