EUG2016 announcements for Monday, July 11

Zagreb, July 11 – the opening ceremony of the light installation, which revitalizes an authentic part of the 1987 Universiade torch and will thus connect these two events shortly before the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016. The ceremony will take place at 19.00 hours at the Dražen Petrović Memorial Center.

Opatija, July 11- the day before the competition part of the European Universities Games Zagreb Rijeka 2016, the participants of the Rectors’ Conference will be arriving at the Grand Hotel Četiri opatijska cvijeta. The reception and the welcome speech are to take place on Monday at 20.30. The Rectors’ Conference takes place from the July 11 to 14, and the main subject is academic sports, especially the dual careers of student athletes.

Rijeka, July 11 – the participants of the Games in Rijeka will have the opportunity to join the Welcoming Tour, which starts at 21.00 hours at Beertija, and continues at Gvardijan Pizzeria, Nemo Pub and Tunel.

Rijeka, July 11 – the theatre show “We’re in this together” starts at 21.00 hours behind the Arts Academy building at the Rijeka Campus. The show is cofinanced by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the Department of Culture of the City of Rijeka.

Zagreb, July 11 – the EUG StartUp Party, Roko Club & Lounge: the welcoming party starts at 22.00 hours at the night club Roko, across the athlets’ village of the Games.
