European Universities Games are the largest multi-sport competition in Europe, and a media platform that will mark a milestone for further development of Croatian university sports.

During the european Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2015, between 1,500 and 2,000 volunteers will live a unique experience in this great cultural and multi-spors event. Volunteers will be the backbone of the organization.

News - Bochum and Porto European university football champions!
After a one-week competition, the city of Osijek closed the 11th European Universities Championship in football. Football champions are the University of Bochum and the University of Porto.
The last matches in the female category were played in the morning. The University of Porto won the University of Wurzburg (1:0) and thus confirmed the unsurpassed quality. With no defeat an only one draw, Portuguese athletes won the title of European Universities Champions.
A match between the University of Marburg and the University of Montpellier revealed who is going to hold the second and third place. Since the French lost the final match (2:1), they dropped on the third place while the Ural Federal University won the second place.
The male category played a total of seven games. The most important ones were played in the afternoon. The University of Franche – Comte and the University of Minho played for the third place. The Portuguese have shown superiority with the score 0:2 and thus won the bronze.
The final match took place at the city stadium FC Osijek. With the support of students from all over Europe, the University of Bochum and the Kuban State University competed for title of a champion. Despite the cheerful audience, teams failed to achieve a goal. A penalty shootout gave the new champion. After the final 4:2, University of Bochum became a European Universities Champion in football while the Russians took the second place.
European Universities Championship in football ended with a closing ceremony. A member of EUSA Executive Committee, Bruno Barracosa, the president of OC, Drago Zagar, NUSA Vice-president, Haris Pavletic and EUSA technical delegates, Antonis Petrou and Andreas Demetrius awarded trophies and medals to the best teams. They also thanked all partners, volunteers and friends, and invited all participants to come to the European Universities Games in Croatia next year.

Zagreb-Rijeka, Croatia: July 12 – 25, 2016
The 3rd edition of the European Universities Games will be held in the Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka in July 2016. Sport featured are Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7’s, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. Two of the sports – Table Tennis and Swimming – will also include competitions for students with disabilities. Apart of the sports competitions, the Games will be accompanied by the Rector’s Conference, educational side-events, cultural program and other activities.
