News - Women’s beach volleyball playoffs

The playoff matches in the women’s beach volleyball tournament were held today. The players performed brilliantly on the scorching courts at Jarun Lake, announcing an exciting final of the tournament.

The Polish team from the University of Warsaw 2 lost 2: 0 to the Austrian University of Linz (17:21, 19:21).
Vilnius University and the University of Zagreb clashed in the next playoff game, and Vilnius confidently took the win with 2:0 (21:19, 21:14). Although the match was tense, the Lithuanians were calmer and more focused throughout the match and came out as winners.

‘People say that they are the favourites and I think that they proved it with this match. We lack coordination, and often our student obligations stand in the way of volleyball,’ said Sara, one of the players from the University of Zagreb.
At the same time, the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences and Toulouse Capitol University in France met on the adjacent court. The Norwegian team was victorious with 2: 0 (21:14, 21:17), showing their best play so far.

The University of Bergen and the University of Warsaw 1 played each other in the last playoff match. After a lot of effort and well-thought moves, the Norwegians won 2: 0 (21:15, 21: 7).
