News - University of Zagreb and HRT following European Universities Games 2016

A meeting between representatives of University of Zagreb, Croatian Radiotelevision and EUG 2016 was held at the Rector’s Office on Wednesday, November 4th 2015. The main focus were the European Universities Games which will start on July 12th 2016.

The Vice-rector for Innovations, Technology Transfer and Communications at the University of Zagreb, Ph. D. Miljenko Simpraga held the meeting with the representatives from Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Kinesiology, Faculty of Political Science, Academy of Fine Arts and from HRT (Croatian Radiotelevision), accompanied with the president of European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016, Zrinko Custonja.

Croatian Radiotelevision will cover various sports matches at European Universities Games (around 30 hours of programme) – two and half hours a day, including live broadcast of the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony and several final matches (basketball, volleyball, handball, football, etc.). HRT will be announcing the Games in daily and weekly shows and news.

The meeting also resulted with an idea of involving students in the EUG2016 project. A large number of students could gain experience as journalists, cameramen and editors. HRT would ensure coordinators, mentors, equipment and space, while the students should start from January 2016 and should continuously follow various activities until July 2016.
