News - The Registration for the EUG Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 has started!

The registration for the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 has started on December 1st 2015! Given that the first applications have already arrived, the Organizing Committee of EUG 2016 invites all students to apply for the biggest sports event in Croatia next year.

Applications can be submitted online via registration system of the European University Sports Association – EUSA (http://eug2016.registrations.eusa.eu/). The first entry deadline for the largest European event in University sport is on January 15th 2016. Representatives of 45 National University Sport Associations, as EUSA members, can register their delegations.

According to the rules of participation, European countries that are not members of EUSA will directly contact EUSA office (www.eusa.eu) in order to participate at EUG.

The European Universities Games are held every two years, while the third edition of Games will be held from July 12th to 25th 2016 in Zagreb and Rijeka. Considering the high level of event organization and number of sports, this will be the biggest Games so far, with more than 5,000 competitors from 45 countries, with a help of over 2,000 volunteers.

The EUG 2016 will held competitions in 21 sports – Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7’s, Sports Climbing, Swimming & Para Swimming, Table Tennis & Para Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and  Water polo. It is important to announce that this will be the first European Universities Games that will include competition for students with disability.
