Succesful Sports Weekend in Poreč

UniSport Finals 2015 confirmed their status of the biggest sports event on the national level which gathers Croatian universities and polytechnics athletes. It attracted more than 900 competitors and 54 volunteers. The city of Porec hosted 13 competitors from Croatian universities and polytechnics.

In an effort to encourage the development of the academic sports, UniSport Finals brought two new sports in the UniSport Finals competition system. Along with futsal, basketball, basketball 3×3, volleyball, beach volleyball, handball and chess, the students had the opportunity to compete in tennis and table tennis.

Many athletes had the same winning motivation – the European Universities Games in Zagreb – Rijeka 2016, because the champions of this competition have qualified for the EUG 2016. After two exciting days of competition, the winners were declared. This year’s results showed convincing superiority of University of Zagreb who won 12 gold and three silver medals in men’s and women’s categories.

This sports project once again proved that the development of student sport in Croatia is in progress.

The European Universities Games in Zagreb and Rijeka will also contribute to its development. With UniSport Finals by their side, the success of the EUG 2016 is even safer.
