Osijek – the center of the European university football

The city of Osijek is going to be the center of the European university football in the following week. Male and female football players from all parts of Europe are coming to Osijek University Campus. The reason is obvious – to participate at the European Universities Championship in football.

Teams from France, Finland, Norway, Poland, Turkey and Russia have already arrived. By the end of Tuesday, the teams from Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Portugal and Romania should also join them.

Even the high summer temperatures did not prevent newly arrived athletes to do their first training. Many of them also explored the city on the river Drava in company of kind volunteers. As any other plausible host, the organizers have prepared a range of fun activities for their guests.

The first of that kind is an opening ceremony at the Square of freedom in Osijek on Wednesday, July 22^nd 2015. This ceremony will officially open the European Universities Championship that will take place from July 21^st to July 28^th 2015.

Student activities in Osijek are still ongoing, despite the summer holidays. Therefore, we invite all sports fans to visit as at our sport feilds so they can become a part of this great event.
