International garden show Floraart marked by the European Universities Games

The flower of the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 is the central exhibit of the 51st international garden show Floraart, which was officially opened on 30th of May at Bundek Park in Zagreb.

“Inspired by the idea and the rich symbolism of the European Universities Games, we wanted to tell that story through the universally comprehensible language of flowers,” said the author of the exhibit dedicated to EUG 2016 Nikolina Matković, B.Sc., who is also the director of the subdivision for plant production of Zrinjevac, the City of Zagreb’s service responsible for maintaining parks and other green areas.

Floraart is one of the events celebrating the Day of the City of Zagreb, the host of the Games.
