European Universities Games are the largest multi-sport competition in Europe, and a media platform that will mark a milestone for further development of Croatian university sports.

During the european Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2015, between 1,500 and 2,000 volunteers will live a unique experience in this great cultural and multi-spors event. Volunteers will be the backbone of the organization.

News - EUSA-EUG2016 January working meeting
Representatives of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) met with key representatives of the European Universities Games Zagreb-Rijeka 2016 for a regular working meeting. The latest one was held in Zagreb on January 18, 2016.
EUSA was represented by the Office staff with Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Sports Manager Mr Patrik Perosa, Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl and Office Manager Ms Sara Rozman. EUG2016 representatives included the OC President Mr Zrinko Custonja, Vice-President Mr Haris Pavletic, Secretary General Mr Marko Zunic, Sports coordinator Mrs Danira Bilic, International relations coordinator Ms Jelena Matesic and other experts.
Main aim of the meeting was regular updating from both organisations and reviewing the registration status of participants after the first General Entry deadline January 15. The number of registered teams shows very high interest among EUSA members and European university teams, as well as individual students to take part in the EUSA Games. Registration is to be shortly reopened for the open places. Sports, featured at the Games otherwise are: Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7’s, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. Two of the sports – Table Tennis and Swimming – will also include competitions for students with disabilities.
Other points on the agenda included topics of security, sports, volunteers, upcoming meetings and other projects and activities before and during the 2016 European Universities Games. Among these, special focus was given to the NUSA coordination (Heads of delegations) meeting on May 10 and 11 and the Rectors’ Conference on July 12 and 13, 2016. Both events will be held in both Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka, with more details to follow.

Zagreb-Rijeka, Croatia: July 12 – 25, 2016
The 3rd edition of the European Universities Games will be held in the Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka in July 2016. Sport featured are Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7’s, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. Two of the sports – Table Tennis and Swimming – will also include competitions for students with disabilities. Apart of the sports competitions, the Games will be accompanied by the Rector’s Conference, educational side-events, cultural program and other activities.
