Basketball: Ljubljana’s players optimistic after their first training

After arriving at Zagreb today, the basketball players from the University of Ljubljana completed their first training at the Cedevita Sports Hall.

The captain of the men’s team said he was satisfied with the accommodation and the overall organization of the Games.

“After arriving in Zagreb, we got settled into the Student Dormitory Stjepan Radić. We really like the accommodation and we hope our stay in the dormitory will be a great experience.”
He told us that his teammates were ready for the Games and were expecting great results.

“We can say with confidence that we are ready. We’ve done all the necessary training and preparation. We hope to finish among the top four teams. Our training is going smoothly and we like the fact that the hall is big enough for practice.”

The women’s team does not seem to share their male colleagues’ optimism. However, they told us they had done some training before arriving in Zagreb for the competition.

“We absolutely love the Cedevita Sports Hall. As far as the training goes, we must admit we are not in the best shape, despite having trained before the summer. Of course, we won’t let that bring us down. We don’t know how good other teams are, but our main goal right now is to advance to the next round.”

“We love the accommodation and the food,” said the captain of the women’s team.
