Hrki as the player of the evening

The official mascot of the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 (EUG 2016), hamster Hrki, entertained athletes and fans in handball match of the Premier League between Zamet and Dubrava. The match ended with the score of 28:27 with victory of Zamet.

“We are pleased that we had the opportunity to host mascot Hrki who perfectly fits in fan zone during the game. Fans took many photos with Hrki and had positive comments, what put the final touch on our important victory. We are also looking forward to the fact that most members of handball club Zamet will play at EUG 2016. It will be great to welcome Hrki in some of our future matches”, said Vedran Babic, director of handball club Zamet.

Viktor Moretti, head of the handball team of the University of Rijeka, said that this victory gives him hope that the men’s handball team of the University of Rijeka will be one of favorites at the upcoming EUG 2016 – given that most of the players of Zamet, led by a team of experts, will be the first team in handball for the University of Rijeka.

“Besides great atmosphere of the Zamet Sports Hall, fair-play and sport spirit, I have to mention and give credit to mascot Hrki who was a central figure of our fan zone. He made everybody happy, shared “high five” with everyone – from the mayor to the youngest fans, who were especially looking forward to Hrki. High five to mayor, high five to fans, high five to Zamet, high five to Hrki and high five to EUG 2016″.
