Rijeka ready for new sports

Seven days have passed since the opening of the European Universities Games in Rijeka, and it is time for new sports. One of them is basketball 3 x 3, and the tournament will be played at the newly-built courts at Rijeka Korzo. All interested citizens have the opportunity to watch the games and training sessions starting on Friday, July 22.

The Games are going according to plan, and new matches are awaited with interest. The finals are scheduled for July 25 from 17.00 to 19.00 hours.

‘There are 450 seats in the stands and we expect them to be full. Twenty-two men’s and thirteen women’s from several European countries will take part in the competition. The organization of the European Universities Games is perfect and it fulfilled all our expectations. If the weather is bad, the audience will be able to see basketball matches at Kastav Sports Hall, and the public will be notified the day before,’ said Gordana Bastiančić from the EUG Sports Committee.
