News - Fresh day for rowing!

Weather conditions were better today but athletes still needed to concentrate on the maintenance of rowing direction. Croatian coach Monika Hur explains: “We have less sun than yersterday, but it’s windier by far.”

Starting at 9 this morning, the second day of the rowing competition shows tense and close results. The first three crews of each categories are qualified for the finals tomorrow. The majority of the athletes come from the Universities of Zagreb, Poznan, Vienna, Tallinn, Porto and Zurich.

‘It is very inspiring to see students competing in rowing’, admits happily volunteer Tajana Kostelić.

While crews were competing, some athletes that already qualified used the day to train: “We have to be better for the finals on Thursday!”, says ambitiously Cambridge University coach Patrick Ryan.
