News - Men’s Basketball: St. Petersburg came from behind to win against Primorska

The match in group C between the St. Petersburg State University of Technology and the University of Primorska (65:53) opened the first day of the basketball tournament at the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016. It was very tense and with many reversals, but the team from Russia managed to overpower their opponent and get the first points in the group.
St. Petersburg player Vladislav Meleshkin didn’t hide his elation over the win.

‘The Slovenian team is very aggressive. They fight for every ball. We expected to win today and this is a good start at the Games.’

‘Our game was very bad for the first match. I except that we will win tomorrow against Estonia because the win will help us go to the next round,’ said Matija Radanović, player for Primorska.
Both teams play their next game tomorrow at the Sports Hall Drazen Petrovic. St. Petersburg plays against Vyautas Magnus University from Lithuania and Primorska plays against the Estonian University of life sciences.
