European Universities Games are the largest multi-sport competition in Europe, and a media platform that will mark a milestone for further development of Croatian university sports.

During the european Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2015, between 1,500 and 2,000 volunteers will live a unique experience in this great cultural and multi-spors event. Volunteers will be the backbone of the organization.

News - Football draw held
Football, a sport which definitely attracts attention all over the Old Continent, has started at the European Universities Games with the long-awaited draw.
The honor to open the competition and reveal the schedule went to EUSA Sports Manager Patrik Peroša. Besides him, the audience was addressed by EUSA executive committee member Jean-Francois Sautereau, the president of the Sports Committee of the European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 Danira Bilić, the head of the GOC Jelena Matešić and EUSA technical delegate Antonis Petrou. EUSA assistant technical delegate Andreas Demetriou, the technical delegate of the Operational Centre Robert Uroić and technical delegate Damir Stipković were also present at the draw.
All sixteen men’s teams were distributed into four groups (A, B, C and D). Football players from Croatia (Zagreb), Finland, the Netherlands and Germany (Wurzburg) formed the group A. Spain, France, Austria and the other Croatian representative – Osijek formed the group B. In the group C, the draw brought together another German team (Bochum), and teams from Turkey, Romania and Spain. The teams from Russia, Portugal, Switzerland and Norway will play in the last group (D).
The draw for the women’s competition was conducted in the same manner. Croatia (Zagreb), Germany (Marburg) and Austria formed the group A. The representatives of the group B are the teams from France, Norway and Germany (Frankfurt). France, the teams from the Netherlands and Switzerland will play in the final group C.

Zagreb-Rijeka, Croatia: July 12 – 25, 2016
The 3rd edition of the European Universities Games will be held in the Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka in July 2016. Sport featured are Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7’s, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. Two of the sports – Table Tennis and Swimming – will also include competitions for students with disabilities. Apart of the sports competitions, the Games will be accompanied by the Rector’s Conference, educational side-events, cultural program and other activities.
