Female basketball players from the University of Belgrade and the University of Bologna were the first to try out the court in Pešćenica. Belgrade was the dominant team in the first quarter, taking the lead and keeping it for the rest of the game. The final result was Belgrade – Bologna 68:43 (25:7, 15:17, 15:13, 13:6).

The most efficient player of the match was Nikolina Milić with 19 points, Maja Ljiljak had 14 assists, while the best Italian player was Lucia Schwienbacher with 10 points.
After the game, Belgrade’s coach was pleased with the performance of his team.

‘We arrived to Zagreb with 12 fantastic girls who came to leave their hearts on the court. Even before this game, our goal was to get to the finals. ’
Belgrade’s captain, Jovana Vukoje, said that their opponents played well.

‘The Italians play good and they will be a tough nut to crack for everyone. We had individual quality on our side, we have great centres and this was the only way it could end. ’

Alessandra Tava, the representative of the University of Bologna said:

‘Participating in the Games is a new experience for us because we hadn’t had the chance to play in this system in Europe. We are aware that all teams in our group are strong opponents; however, we have big hearts and we just might surprise you’

Tomorrow, the University of Bologna plays against the University of Physical Education from Hungary. Two hours later, Belgrade plays against Bahcesehir University from Turkey.
