News - Croatian gold medals in judo kata

At the judo tournament in Rijeka, both first places were won by Croatian pairs. Two medals, gold in the nage-no-kata, and bronze in the katame-no-kata categories were won by Grgur Jaković from the University of Rijeka. He has been training judo since he was a child, and he himself is training junior athletes now.

‘I love working with children, and I am especially happy that the European Universities Games, as well as my sport, are hosted by my home town.’

In the katame-no-kata category, Donna Vadlja and Ana Kvolik won, representing the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. This is the first gold for both of them, and they are very proud to have competed on the tournament. They are expecting good results in the oncoming days of the competition in this traditional martial arts category.
