European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 applied a project under European Voluntary Sevice – part of the Erasmus+ programme. Through this project, we welcomed three volunteers, one coming from Poland and two from Hungary.
During the one-year service, volunteers will be a part of the biggest sports events in Europe in 2016 – European Universities Games 2016, to be held in Zagreb and Rijeka. Volunteers will contribute to organising the Games by the following tasks and opportunities:
- opportunity to participate in organisation and coordination of sport activities and other events (i.e. educational seminars, conferences, workshops) organized under auspices of the EUG 2016;
- communication with international partners (students, universities, NGO’s, youth organizations, sport federations etc.); daily based communication with EUG2016 partners; emails and official letters; communicating by phone, skype or during live meetings
- managing social media and website; creating and publishing content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and webiste.
- Preparation and editing of the newsletter, brochures, handbooks and other publications; creating content of mentioned publications; collecting information and images; writing articles.
- collecting data and creating data base; collecting and analysing different type of data (bibliographic, full-text, numeric, images etc.), organizing and systematizing so that it can be easily accessed, managed and updated.
- Volunteer Management: preparation of volunteer programme, focusing on international volunteers; development of volunteer positions, selection of volunteers, preparation of training for volunteers, leading the team of volunteers during European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016.
EVS helps young people from Europe and programme countries to develop their sense of solidarity by participating, either individually or in group, in non-profit, unpaid voluntary activities abroad.
