Sport contributes to the development of human being through physical and mental development, but also has a deep social influence. European Universities Games Zagreb – Rijeka 2016 will use that influence in best possible way by preparing entirely different and new concept of Games.

Besides numerous creative ideas, one of the most important innovations is the inclusion of sports for students with disabilities. By conducting competitions in two sports which are within the program of the Paralympics Games, the EUSA would join contemporary Olympic efforts in ensuring equal conditions and providing equal chances for all individuals who want to be involved in sports.

According to the criteria of the Paralympic Games, two new categories of sports will take place at EUG 2016. Due to the model of dualism integrated in the dual candidacy of Zagreb and Rijeka, each city will host one Para sport.

Para swimming will be held in Rijeka at Kantrida Swimming Pool Complex, while the
Para table tennis will be held in Zagreb at Hall of sports 3, Hall of sports 4 and at Sports Hall Savska 137.

Academic sport is not and must not be an exception in these efforts. All students who want to socialize through sports and who,
in one word, live for sports are introduced with the offered sports.

That way, EUSA and EUG 2016 will give the opportunity for all students to be a part of the academic sports community.
