Golf: no matter the results, players enjoying themselves

The first day of the golf competition started at 9:30 at the Golf & Country Club Zagreb. The club is situated outside the city, on a quiet location, decorated with small lakes, and the golf course is pleasingly quiet.

‘I come here often, because it’s nice here. I played here a couple of times, but, unfortunately, I wasn’t any good today. But that’s okay, I came here to enjoy the competition,’ said the smiling player from Belgrade Ranko Hehc.

The University of Belgrade is not the only one displeased with the current results, especially since they overcame their handicap.

‘We’ll try better tomorrow. But the time spent socializing is more important than the scores,’ admitted Dejan Robida from the University of Ljubljana.

After today’s games ended, the players had the chance to train next to the golf course.

‘I’ve been playing golf for 13 years, so it’s very interesting to see professionals play,’ said the visibly excited Croatian volunteer Daniel Krivačić.
