News - Men’s Basketball: Romanians skilfully outplayed the Portuguese

In the Dražen Petrović Sports Hall, the basketball players from the Romanian Pitesti University beat the Portuguese from the Minho University with the final score 65:56.

The Romanians started the match decisively. From the very first minute, they showed who was in charge, but the Portuguese side also showed their courage and their fighting spirit.

The Portuguese played beautifully; Mihai’s incredible jumps were impressive. He is not a typical basketball player. He is not tall, but his speed and jumps are unparalleled and are his trump card.

Although they had the advantage of at least 10 points at all times, the Romanian captain, Lučian Kirofa, said that the Portuguese team was anything but easy to beat.

“It was a good match. We won, but it was very difficult. We expected it would be like that, and we know that each next match will be more difficult”, said the captain.

Ahead of them are even better matches, but it seems as if they are afraid the most of the basketball players from Niš, who are known as one of the best teams around.
